This is an article to sustain the historic decision coming up for the Boy Scouts of America. Two points: One, there is an opportunity for homosexuals to be converted while attending BSA events if the leaders are not intimidated, but bold in Christian faith, whether the policy changes or not (There are gay boys in the BSA already, just look at the board members). Two, whenever people disobey biblical principles there are repercussions. God intended men to be godly men with masculinity that lead an expansion of God's kingdom. The discipline that God put in place for homosexuals is the AIDS virus.

Sitting on the desk of a Boy Scouts of America official is a petition with 19,000 signatures urging the historic organization to adhere to traditional American values.
What would most likely occur first if the Boy Scouts of America change their policy and decide to accept homosexual boys into their ranks?
Alliance Defending Freedom(ADF) announced this week it delivered a petition with 18,724 signatures - many bearing the names of former Scouts and Scout leaders - to the Boy Scouts recently.
The 102-year-old Boy Scouts is just a day away from a historic vote in Grand Prairie, Texas, to determine whether homosexual boys will be permitted as members of the Scouts. Open homosexuals are currently banned, and the organization is being lobbied heavily from both sides -- to either maintain its policy or to drop it.
The Boy Scouts of America "shouldn't give in to intimidation or abandon its values," says Erik Stanley, senior legal counsel at Arizona-based ADF and an Eagle Scout.
Total youth membership in scouting was 2.7 million in 2012 according to the BSA website, which shows declining participation especially in Tiger Cubs and Webelos.
Scouting begins as young as six and continues through the teen years to age 18.
"The Boy Scouts should once again stand firm on moral principles that have successfully shaped our nation's boys into leaders for generations," says David Cortman, senior counsel at ADF.
A letter accompanying the petition suggests the people who signed the petition "are ready and willing to stand with BSA if it will make the right decision and stand firm on its values and membership policy."
ADF sent a similar letter in March, suggesting an inconsistent policy nationwide could open the door to lawsuits.

My youngest son was an Arrow Of Light recipient. I went on an overnight outing with them and it was good wholesome fun. I admire the pack leaders and those committed to Scouting, but I promise you that as a responsible parent, there is no way that, in good conscience, I would allow my son to be exposed to a situation like camping out with gays might present. These young boys should not even be aware of homosexuality, let alone be exposed to the idea that the gay lifestyle agenda is normal.
So then I can guess that college is out of the question then? It's quite possible that your son will be sharing a room with a gay classmate not for a couple of nights, but nine months. You shouldn't even bother asking to change roommates- you'll be politely ejected from the residence office.
What about gay co-workers, or supervisor? You can't lie to your son forever.
Just when exactly were you planning on telling your son that not everyone is heterosexual, but that he still has to learn to live and work with them? You'll put that discussion off for a good long time one can guess. By the time you work up the courage, your son will chuckle at your awkward attempt to explain a commonplace human variation that is already a part of his everyday life and culture.
There's a Gay Scout going around saying that getting gays into the Scouts is just the beginning....his interview is on the Yahoo news today. THIS is exactly what the majority of us hate about it....they aren't satisfied to just be IN the organization...they want to TAKE IT OVER! They want to CRAM it down our throats and FORCE us to think it's normal.....and it's NOT!!!!!
An inconsistent national policy would definitely open the door to lawsuits. This is one issue where the organization is going to be unable to straddle the fence. If the BSA abandons its stand against homosexuality it will be unable to undo the action. It will be unable in the future to revert to the old policy on the grounds that homosexuality runs counter to its core beliefs. Its core beliefs will have been sacrificed to the god of political correctness.
In reality the vote will be to end the Boy Scouts as we know it. If the scouts embrace the gay agenda it is likely to lose many troops affiliated with churches and conservative organizations. If there was an interest in having a gay scouting organization one would have been started by now. Human Rights Campaign, Southern Poverty Law Center or one of the other pro-homosexual organizations could have started a scouting organization open to all flavors of sexuality, but they haven't. Why? Could it be they fear what would happen in an organization that has no real boundaries of right and wrong? Could it be that such a scouting organization would be so small it would be irrelevant?
In the end this is one more attempt to force an organization to change to fit the gay agenda. If the change destroys the Boy Scouts, the gay agenda really doesn't care.
We all must not forget the persuasiveness that teachers and leaders have over children. I have a friend who, when he was 14, agreed to feed the pets of a teacher who was going on vacation. He was given a key to the house and, not expecting the teacher to be there, found he had not left yet. This teacher, along with another who lived there, persuaded the boy, leading him into homosexual activity. His parents were led to believe their son had continued opportunities to earn money by working at the teacher's home throughout high school. They had no idea what was going on.
That happened in 1978. He tried to break out of it and was married, which lasted only a few months. He tried to commit suicide and then ran away from home in the Seattle area. 25 years later, his parents were able to find him in Florida. His shame prevented him from communicating with his family.
Now the homosexuals political powers desire to have free reign over these children who's identity has not been formed yet. Please do not allow them to have ANY influence over the decisions made by the Boy Scouts of America. IF the powers that be force their policies on you, it is IMPERATIVE that you dissolve the organization. Remember, if you allow them to change the values that the BSA have been founded upon for over 100 years, God will hold you accountable for the destruction you allow by your decisions.
Former cub scout...I had a great time in my life bringing in the core values and leadership in my life from this organization and others like it growing up. I am gay and I'm thankful for those times. When I talk to other gay males finding out thier pasts lacked such good role models?!? I seem to find, if I ask a passive question if support and leadership was provided, could that have helped for their troubled times growing up? "Yes" & "definately" are the responses I hear most. To me this supports that BSA needs to be there for all young boys. It can give them a foundation that would affect them their whole lives.
I am not saying that boys who believe they are gay should not be allowed in scouts. They should be reached out to and coy filed. The scouts folks God' values and therefore should give council as such. God has judged the gay lifestyle as contrary to his word. Repentance and faith in Christ can take away the desire and bring a person into fellowship with God. Without faith and repentance there is no fellowship.
Clayton, you recognize how important good role models are. Not having them is one of or possibly the most significant reason people become gay. People effect the lives of other people, right? Is it right that a group of people who clearly don't want the influence of homosexuals choose to open the doors to homosexuals so that they can be "helped for their troubled times growing up?" Is it worth exposing those who clearly don't want the influence in the hopes that they will change their orientation? Wouldn't you agree that the damage has been done already by the lack of positive male role models? Most people would believe that it's not worth exposing many to homosexuality with the hope that one person might change.

Apparently something "affected" you and it wasn't good. I sincerley hope the Boy Scouts would influence boys NOT to take this route instead of support them on their journey.
